This initiative tries to create the sense of unity and pride in Worcester. For too long Worcester has been divided by socio-economic classes, race, language and culture. Although we are proud of our town’s diversity, we know that the Worcester community can do more to reach out towards one another across borders.
By encouraging everyone to wear the “I am Worcester T-shirt” each Friday, we symbolise a shared vision of working together to establish a better and more inclusive society.
Since we value reconciliation, we are very pleased that the Worcester Hope
and Reconcilation Process* has joined in our efforts, and has endorsed this project as well.
All money that is being raised, will be divided by the WBF and the Worcester Hope and Reconciliation Process, to further the work of both these organisations in our town.
*The Worcester Hope and Reconciliation Process is an initiative of a group of Worcester residents representing all sectors of the community, chaired by Claude Schroeder . Its purpose is to promote social justice, development, peace, reconciliation and transformation in the Breede Valley.
